Booking at Alderbrook Resort & Spa
We have a group reservation for our wedding ceremony at Alderbrook Resort & Spa on August 9-11, 2024. Please ask for the “Luu & Chao Wedding”. You can make a reservation by calling (360) 898-2200 or email reservations@alderbrookresort.com. Check-in begins at 4pm and check-out is at 11am. To our wedding party and family, please book your stay from August 9-11 as soon as possible.
Alternatively, you can stay at Robinhood Village Resort, which is about a 2 minute drive (or 10 minute walk) from Alderbrook. We do not have a group reservation for this location so we suggest contacting the hotel at your earliest convenience to book your stay.
Wedding Ceremony Details
Alderbrook Resort is about an hour and 45 minute drive west of Seattle. While the outdoor ceremony promptly begins at 5pm, please arrive by 4:30pm to get settled in and find your seats. Cocktail hour will be held outside before a short walk to a tented reception and indoor dance party. Expect the weather in August to be in the highs at 75°F to 85°F and lows of 60° F to 65° F.
Transportation
There will be ample parking onsite including valet parking. Please don’t drink and drive and consider booking a night at Alderbrook. For our out of town family, we’ll have a shuttle bus to transport you from downtown Seattle, to the Tea Ceremony, to Alderbrook, and then back to downtown Seattle.
Plus Ones
Due to our venue’s capacity limitations, we cannot accommodate plus ones for all of our guests. Please do not bring a plus one unless they are specifically named on your invitation. Thank you for understanding!
Dogs
We’ve decided to keep the event dog-free (with the exception of our own pup) to ensure the comfort and enjoyment of all our guests. We understand this may be disappointing, and we sincerely appreciate your understanding. If you need any recommendations for local pet sitters or boarding services, we’d be happy to help with that. We want to make sure everyone, including your furry friend, has a great time!
Unplugged
During the ceremony, please let our talented photographer capture the moments. Please silence or turn off all devices to be fully present with us in this special occasion. You are welcome to take photos before and after the ceremony.
What to Wear
The wedding dress code is cocktail attire — think elegant summer cocktail dresses and a polished suit and tie. If you’re having any trouble deciding what to wear, reach out to Brenda or Ben. The bridal party will be wearing brown dresses. Please refrain from wearing white.
Welcome Drinks
Open to all of our guests — we look forward to mingling with everyone before the big day!
Tea Ceremony
This event is restricted to our family and wedding party only (a separate invite will be sent). This event symbolizes the union of our two families and our love for our culture and heritage. Please wear a traditional Ao Dai or Qipao, otherwise opt for semi-formal attire. Lunch from local Vietnamese and Taiwanese restaurants will be provided (buffet style). Please arrive by 9:45am as the ceremony will promptly begin at 10am. There will be plenty of on-site and street parking available. Please plan to head over to Alderbrook afterwards.
Selecting The Date
We intentionally referenced the lunar calendar to make sure our wedding date was an auspicious day to get married. August 10, 2024 also falls on Qixi Festival, a celebration of romantic love aka Chinese Valentine’s Day.
